The Arkansas State women's basketball team welcomed fans, family and Fast Break Club members to their annual Preseason Cookout Monday night at St. Bernards Auditorium in Jonesboro.
Those in attendance enjoyed a meal of barbeque chicken, ribs and all the trimmings, provided by ERA Steve Doty Real Estate in Jonesboro. Following the meal, ASU's 15 players, beginning with seniors Caroline Starr, Brittney Hiles and Kayla Pospisil, addressed the capacity crowd in attendance.
Arkansas State Head Coach Brian Boyer also took the podium to welcome and thank those attending and gave a brief preview of the upcoming season.
Arkansas State returns all five starters, seven of the top eight scorers, and the top five rebounders from last year's 20-win season.
ASU's season gets underway Nov. 14 at home against WNIT participant Creighton. The Red Wolves 15-game home schedule also includes Big XII powers Kansas State and Oklahoma, along with nine Sun Belt Conference games.
Season ticket renewals have already been mailed out and season tickets go on sale to the public Oct. 10.
