JONESBORO, Ark. (4/12/15) – The Arkansas State University women's basketball program honored its student-athletes Tuesday evening at the annual A-State women's basketball postseason banquet at the Cooper Alumni Center.

Keith Merritt, the “Voice of the Red Wolves,” served as the emcee of the event. Merritt introduced Red Wolves head coach Brian Boyer to those in attendance, and Boyer, along with assistant coaches Autumn RademacherDeidra JohnsonSteve Huber and Logan Mittie presented the following awards:

Presented with letter jackets, as a part of the Margret Osoinach Award was redshrt freshman Aaliyah Warren and true freshman Kylie Ladd.

Second-year letterwinners Lauren Bradshaw, Akasha WestbrookChristyal HollowayOgo Obinabo were presented with a photo collage, while third-year letterwinners Brittany Fowler, Dominique Oliver and Jamie Ruffins were were presented with a Red Wolves wristwatch.

Seniors Amanda Lawson, Jessica Flanery, Aundrea Gamble and Khadija Brown-Haywood were presented with custom Red Wolves basketballs for their years of outstanding service and leadership to the A-State women's basketball program.

Gamble was named as the team's Most Valuable Player for the third straight year after leading the team in scoring at 18.9 points-per-game. She was one of two players in the nation to average over 18 points, four assists and shoot over 50 percent from the field on the year, joining UCONN's Breanna Stewart. Gamble was also named a Second-Team All-American by the Senior CLASS award and won a Sun Belt Conference record third straight Student-Athlete of the Year award.

Brown-Haywood was honored with the team's Offensive Player of the Year award after garnering All-SBC First-Team honors after leading the league in rebounding with a 9.4 average per game. She also averaged 17.4 points per contest. During conference she averaged she led the Red Wolves with 18.9 points per game and finished second in the league with 9.6 rebounds per contest.

Gill earned the team's Defensive Player of the Year after earning All-SBC Third-Team accolades for the first time in her career. She averaged 1.8 steals per contest and was the team's leading rebounder as a guard with 5.4 boards per contest.

Holloway received the Student-Athlete of the Year award for the first time after achieving the highest individual GPA on the team. The Red Wolves were also recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom in both the Spring and Fall semesters of 2015.

Gamble took home the final award of the night, the Red Wolves Excellence award which takes into account academics, community service, heart, effort, determination (on and off the court), Pride in Arkansas State and overall character.
