JONESBORO, Ark. (10/31/16) – Arkansas State volleyball senior Mallory Warrington was named the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week for the eighth time this season the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Warrington dished out 105 assists for an 11.67 per set average in A-State's sweeps of Little Rock, Georgia Southern, and Georgia State this past week. She started the week off impressively with 42 assists (14.00 per set) and a service ace against the Trojans before dishing out 32 and 31, respectively, in the wins over Georgia Southern and Georgia State.
A native of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Warrington also had two aces against the Panthers to go along with 10 digs for her team-best 11th double-double of the year. She added six kills, 26 digs, four service aces, and three blocks over the course of the week and didn't have a service error or reception error.
This award is Warrington's 13th Setter of the Week award in her career and 14th overall weekly award. She ranks third all-time on the Red Wolves' career assists list with 4,042. Her 1,118 assists for the 2016 campaign rank as the most in the NCAA currently while her 11.89 per set average is second in the nation. She recently became the ninth member of Arkansas State's 1,000-1,000 Club with her career assist total and now has 1,092 digs.
