A-State to Host 2017 SBC Volleyball Tournament

JONESBORO, Ark. (11/11/16) – The Sun Belt Conference announced several championship sites for the 2017-18 season Friday with Arkansas State set to host the 2017 SBC Volleyball Tournament at the Convocation Center.

A-State has hosted the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Tournament six times, but it will be the first time since the 1996 season. Jonesboro was home to the SBC Tournament for six consecutive years from 1991-96. A-State won four of the six events it hosted.

The dates for the 2017 SBC Volleyball Tournament will be announced at a later date.

The last time Arkansas State hosted a conference championship event was the 2013 SBC Indoor Track and Field Championships, also held at the Convocation Center.

As for this season, the A-State volleyball squad wraps up regular-season play today at 3:30 p.m. at Little Rock. If the Red Wolves win, A-State will be the No. 1 seed in this year's version of the tournament being held in Arlington, Texas Nov. 18-20.
