JONESBORO, Ark. (2/9/17) – The Arkansas State women's bowling team is scheduled to travel to Houston, Texas for the Stephen F. Austin Stormin' Ladyjack Invitational at Copperfield Lanes Feb. 10-12.

The field for this weekend's event features 24 teams with 17 of those squads ranked in the latest edition of the NTCA Top 25. The Red Wolves, ranked second, are joined by eight other top 10 teams including No. 1 Nebraska, No. 3 McKendree, No. 4 Sam Houston State, No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Stephen F. Austin, No. 8 Delaware State, No. 9 Maryland Eastern Shore, and No. 10 Sacred Heart.

Other ranked teams in the competition include No. 12 Monmouth, No. 13 Tulane, No. 14 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 17 LIU-Brooklyn, No. 18 North Carolina A&T, No. 19 Prairie View A&M, No. 21 UAB, and No. 24 Youngstown State. Rounding out the list of teams scheduled to compete are Jackson State, Texas Southern, Grambling State, Lincoln Memorial, Louisiana Tech, Maryville, and Southern.

Friday's action gets underway at 9:30 a.m. with five, five-game Baker matches with Saturday's competition set to start at 9:25 a.m. with teams playing in five traditional team matches. The final day of the tournament will start Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. with teams competing in three best-of-seven Baker matches in bracket play.

A-State (45-18) finished fourth at the Prairie View A&M Invitational Jan. 27-29, but only accumulated a 7-7 record in the event. However, Jordan Richard hasn't cooled off at all as she led the field with a 1,289 and 214.83 per game average to claim MVP and all-tournament honors. The Tecumseh, Mich., native has been named the MVP in three of the Red Wolves' five tournaments this season and earned all-tournament accolades all but one competition.
