STATESBORO, Ga. (5/23/17) – Tuesday's first round games at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, including A-State's contest versus Georgia State, have been postponed due to poor field conditions and the threat of further inclement weather at J.I. Clements Stadium in Statesboro, Ga., the league office announced Tuesday morning.
The seventh-seeded Red Wolves were scheduled to play 10th-seeded Georgia State at 2 p.m. (CT) this afternoon, but the game will not be played today. The other matchup between No. 8 Texas State and No. 9 Little Rock has also been postponed.
Alternative sites and make-up schedules are being examined. The remainder of Tuesday's forecast as well as Wednesday's forecast calls for a high chance of rain most of the day. Georgia Southern and Sun Belt officials will continue to monitor the weather situation throughout the day and overnight Tuesday.
