JONESBORO, ARK. (9/15/08) – Monday marks the beginning of fall practice for the Red Wolves baseball program under first year head coach Tommy Raffo.

Thirty-four players will report for fall exercises including 23 returning players and 11 newcomers. Seven of the 11 newcomers are pitchers.

“We are looking forward to fall team practice.,” said head coach Tommy Raffo.  “We have finished our pre-fall conditioning phase and the team and coaches are excited about hitting the field as a unit.”

ASU fall baseball practice will run through Oct 24 and will be capped off by the Red Wolf World Series. The date and time of the Red Wolf World Series will be determined as fall practice moves along.

Arkansas State finished the 2008 season with a 20-34-1 record including a 8-21-1 record in the Sun Belt Conference.

Raffo was named ASU head baseball coach on July 1, 2008 after serving the past 15 seasons as an assistant coach at Mississippi State.
