JONESBORO, Ark. (1/27/18) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team fell to the University of Missouri-Kansas City by a 4-0 decision at RidgePointe Country Club Saturday morning.

 

The Kangaroos took the doubles point in match’s No.1 and 3 and then earned the victory with wins in single matches No. 1, 2 and 3. UMKC claimed a pair of 7-6 wins in doubles play to take the point.

 

In singles’ competition, Shelby King lost to Aliona Ladutska by a score of 6-1, 6-1, while Anita Detlava lost to Katie Fries 6-2, 6-1. Sabina Jeresic then fell to Melinda Johnson 7-5, 6-3 as that ended competition for the day. 

 

The Red Wolves (0-5) closes out weekend play with the University of Central Arkansas on Sunday, Jan. 28 at the A-State Tennis Complex for a 2 p.m. match start.
