SANDESTIN, Fla. (04/16/18) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team is tied for sixth place at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament after concluding the second round Monday with a 313 at the Raven Golf Club.


A-State improved one position in the standings and now has a combined 624 through two rounds, which places it in a tie with Georgia State. The squad sits just two strokes behind fifth-place Texas State heading into the final round.


Junior’s Beth Ann Compton and Aracelly Jimenez Rios are tied for 15th place with a 154, leading the team through two rounds of play. Compton carded a second-round 79, while Jimenez Rios recorded a 77.


Sophomore Grayson Gladden improved two positions in the second round, shooting a 77 to put her in 28th place with a combined 157.


Also competing for the Red Wolves, senior Sarah Childers is tied for 31st place after shooting an 80 to register a two-round 159. Senior Emma Miller sits in a tie for 47th place after carding an 84 to give her a 167 total. 

The third-and-final round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament will be played on Tuesday.
