Red Wolves In Second Place at Griffin Invitational

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (2/6/10) - The Arkansas State women's bowling team sits in second place and recorded a 4-1 record Saturday at the Griffin Invitational in St. Louis, Mo., boosting their weekend record to 7-3 with one day of competition remaining.

"We played pretty well today," said ASU head coach Justin Kostick.  "We should have won against Central Missouri.  Our spare shooting still needs to be better tomorrow, but we can't complain going 4-1 on the day."

The Red Wolves started the day splitting two baker matches.  ASU topped Minnesota State-Mankato 997-851 before falling to UCM 907-885.

In regular team matches, Arkansas State dominated all three matches, winning 970-926 over Wisconsin-Whitewater, 981-900 over Valparaiso and 809-734 over Elmhurst.

The Griffin Invitational will wrap up Sunday, Feb. 7 with four team games.
