JONESBORO,
Ark. (9/2/10) - The Arkansas State cross country team opens action for their
2010 competition season Friday night at the Arkansas Tech Twilight meet in Russellville,
Ark.
The
Arkansas State cross country team returns all five of their top runners on the
women's side including Samantha Salinas, Chelsea Weaver, Reilly McAtee, Dawn
L'Heureux and Sydney Foreman.
ASU
also gets back top performers and upperclassmen Mary Krug and Erica Naeger who
will bolster the team and provide leadership. The Red Wolves add four freshmen
on the women's side, most notably Kristina Aubert, a top runner from Illinois
who is expected to cause some waves in the Sun Belt.
On the
men's side, ASU gets senior leadership back in the form of Derell and Terell
Pigram and Bailey Bunyan. Bunyan was hampered by injuries last season and now
healthy should add some spark to the Red Wolves.
ASU
also gets back David Mills and Briar Becton a pair of sophomores who will help
bolster their roster and add depth. The men will also get depth from juniors
James Ngwiri and Robert Lanier.
Action
at the Tech Twilight meet is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night.
