WICKLIFFE, Ohio. (4/11/12) – The Arkansas State bow
ling team participated in a morning practice session on Thursday at the Freeway
Lanes of Wickliffe in preparation for their fifth straight appearance in the
NCAA Bowling Tournament.
The team practiced from 9:30-11 a.m. and then went through an equipment check at
the end of the session. During the practice the squad focused on adjusting out
the lane pattern and preparing themselves for the baker matches on Friday. The
team also participated in a 5-on-5 baker format competition against each other near
the end of the practice session.
“I thought went pretty good,” ASU coach Justin
Kostick said. “I thought things were fine. We are just trying to get a feel for
the lane and we did a little bit of moving around so it wasn't a dead test of
where are scores were.”
The tournament will get underway at 8 a.m. (CT)
Thursday morning with the first session of the seeding rounds. Each team
will bowl one, five-person game against the seven other teams in the field for
a total of seven games. Team will then be seeded for bracket play based on
their win-loss record during the seeding rounds. The first section is set to
begin at 8 a.m. (CT), while the second section is scheduled to begin at 2:30
p.m. (CT).
