A-STATE AMBUSH CENTRAL AND COACH TRACKER

The Red Wolves are putting their full recruiting attention on the state of Arkansas this week with their "A-State Ambush," sending their assistant coaches across the entire state in five consecutive days to visit all 215 football-playing high schools in Arkansas.

In anticipation of the week-long recruiting blitz of the state that begins today, the coaching staff rallied around the slogan "215 schools, 5 days, 1 staff, 1 purpose."After meeting with head coach Gus Malzahn, ASU's assistant coaches departed ASU Stadium on Monday in various directions leading to all parts of the state.

Each coach will be responsible for visiting different regions of the state, and their time on the road will be documented and available to track at A-State Ambush Central.

"We are very excited and kicking off the A-State Ambush. Our coaches are going out in this state and we are going to hit 215 football-playing high schools in a five day period. There is a lot excitement from our staff and we are looking forward to getting out and talking with coaches and administrators and just going to every school. It is something that has never been done before, so we are excited to be the first to do that."

"We want to let the coaches of the schools and the state to know that it is a different day. We want to give them ownership of what we are doing. We look forward to meeting them all and getting to know them better. We just want to have an open door here and we are real excited to be doing that this week."

"There are traditional schools that players come out of, but we want to go to every football playing school just to turnover a rock and try to see if there are any up and coming players. When you think of recruiting, a lot of people of just the seniors to be, but you need to identify kids as early as ninth grade and that is what our coaches are going to be doing. We want every school to know they are important to us. We are big believers in the coaches and players in this state and this is going to be the foundation of our program and we said that when we were hired."

"Being a high school coach in this state for 15 years and coaching against guys, this is really where I learned football and I've got a special bond with the high school coaches so I'm really looking forward to getting our coaches out there."

"We want the people of the state of Arkansas to know that is a new day here at Arkansas State. This is the foundation of our program and we want to give everybody ownership of what we are doing, so we want to meet-and-greet, identify players and just get our coaches out there."
