JONESBORO, Ark. (5/15/12) — Space remains available for girls
wishing to attend this summer's Brian Boyer Basketball Camps at Arkansas State
University. Two four-day camps and two
one-day camps are set for the 2012 summer schedule and are available to girls
entering kindergarten through high school seniors.
The four-day camps, which will be held in the ASU Convocation
Center, will be staffed by Boyer and the ASU women's basketball coaching staff,
along with current and former Red Wolves players. Both camps are scheduled to run June 18-21.
An individual camp for girls grades 4-12 will run from 9:00
a.m.-5:00 p.m. each day. The
camp will stress fundamentals and team concepts vital to the game of
basketball. Morning
sessions will focus on in-depth station work covering all aspects of the game
of basketball. Afternoon
sessions will apply those skills to game-type situations. Lunch will be provided between
sessions.
An elementary camp for girls grades K-4 will be held each
evening from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. This
camp will teach the proper fundamentals of basketball while allowing the
campers to interact with the Red Wolf staff and players in a fun environment.
The one-day camps are set for June 1 and 2. The June 1 shooting camp is designed for
girls entering grades 4-12. New for
2012, the camp will break down the fundamentals of shooting, specific to each
age group at the clinic and will cover all aspects of shooting.
A one-day team camp has been scheduled for June 2 and will
guarantee each team three games, with each participant receiving a camp
t-shirt. The camp will feature three
divisions – a junior high division and a upper and lower senior high divisions.
