DES MOINES, Iowa. (6/6/12) -
Arkansas State sophomore sprinter Sharika Nelvis earned Second Team
All-American status after finishing 14th overall in the semifinals
of the 100m dash at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Wednesday at Drake Stadium.
Nelvis finished third in the
first heat of the event with a time of 11.41 and missed qualifying for the
event final by just .09 seconds.
Nelvis has another shot at
qualifying for a final event when she competes in the 100m hurdles on Thursday
at 7:10 p.m. Nelvis has the
fourth-fastest qualifying time in the 100m hurdles entering the semifinals on
Thursday.
