JONESBORO, Ark. (7/16/2012) — The Arkansas State volleyball team and head coach David Rehr are set to
host their annual Red Wolves Volleyball Camps at the ASU HPESS building this
summer. The summer schedule includes and individual skills camp and a team
camp.
The individual skills camp will be
held this July 19-21 for students ages 12-18, while the team camp will be open
for team's players in grades 9-12 and will be held July 27-28.
The cost for the individual camp is $150, while the
team camp is set at $50 per athlete. All campers will receive a Red Wolves
Volleyball Camp t-shirt. All camp sessions are open to parents, and the
ASU staff encourages parents to attend as their schedules permit. A
certified athletic trainer will be on duty at all times at all of the Red
Wolves Volleyball Camps.
The individual camps will focus on the fundamental skills
of volleyball and will offer campers a chance to experience the teaching styles
and drills used in the ASU volleyball program. Skills will be reinforced
through game-like drills to help campers learn to apply the
skill. Additional instruction on offensive and defensive systems,
rotations and more will also be given.
The team camp provides a great opportunity for teams
to get one-on-one attention from the ASU staff and to better prepare for the
upcoming season. Teams attending will also have the opportunity to compete
against other teams from around the area.
Those wishing to preregister can do by contacting
assistant volleyball coach Jessica Weynand at 870-972-3524 or can email her at jweynand@astate.edu. Those wishing to register on the day of the camp may
do so as well.
