Jerry Scott joined the Arkansas State athletics staff as Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations on July 20, 2006.

Along with a staff of two assistants and one graduate assistant, Scott is responsible for managing all of the information services and media requests for the Arkansas State Athletics Department and its 16 varsity sports. Scott is a familiar face within A-State's conference after spending the previous seven years as a member of the athletic media relations staff at the Univ. of North Texas, a member of the Sun Belt Conference from 2000-13.

Scott serves as the primary media relations contact for the Red Wolves’ football and men’s and women’s golf teams.  He has coordinated multiple All-America and additional honor campaigns for A-State student-athletes, while also covering the bowl publicity efforts for the 2011 and 2012 Sun Belt Conference champion football team.  Named a “Student-Affairs Hero” by the University during his tenure, Scott has supervised the media relations department during a period of unprecedented exposure and publicity in A-State Athletics’ history.

His primary responsibilities at North Texas included overseeing the publicity efforts for men's basketball, volleyball, swimming and diving and tennis. Scott was also highly involved in the publicity efforts for the football team, serving as the secondary contact for the sport.

He served as the interim sports information director at North Texas during 2001, was a member of the university’s athletic hall of fame committee and was active in several national and regional award campaigns for the school's athletic programs and its student-athletes.

Scott is a 1998 graduate from Tarleton State University. (Stephenville, Texas), where he served as a student assistant with the sports information office.  He is a member of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).
