JONESBORO, Ark. (3/27/13) – The 14th Annual Arkansas State University Sports Medicine Golf Scramble, scheduled to be held at the Jonesboro Country Club, was cancelled due to heavy rain in the Jonesboro area on Monday afternoon.
The event was scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., but the rain was enough to cause the cancellation of the event.
After lunch was served, all teams scheduled to play in the event received a redeemable card that pays for the greens fees and provides a golf cart for a future playing date to make-up for the cancellation of the event.
The prizes for first, second, and third place were awarded by a random drawing and presented to the winners. Door prizes and specialty prizes were awarded by random drawing after the main prizes were presented.
The proceeds generated from the scramble will go toward providing therapeutic and rehabilitation equipment necessary in the caring for injured Red Wolves' student-athletes along with providing quality clinical experience for athletic training students in A-State's nationally accredited athletic training curriculum. Among the equipment items purchased as a result of the scramble are AutoSound Hands-free Ultrasound, Interx Neuromuscular Stimulation, LaserPrism Therapeutic Laser, etc.
