NASHVILLE, Tenn. (3/3/17) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Lipscomb Friday afternoon at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Courts on the Lipscomb University campus.

Sabina Jeresic captured the only victory of the day A-State with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Madeleine Brooks on the No. 2 match. Julie Gauguery saw her five match win streak come to an end with a 6-0, 6-4 loss to Viktoriya Dzyuba in the No. 1 pairing.

Shannon O'Brien lost Hannah Gamage 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 match, while Victoria Pisani fell to Denise Buberl 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 4 match. Tori Roberts led Thabile Tshatedi 3-6, 6-0, 1-0 when her match called, while Allison Quammen had a 6-0, 6-6 advantage over Jaclyn Findlay when her match was called.

In doubles’ competition Gauguery and O’Brien lost to Dzyuba and Bubrerl 6-4, while Quammen and Roberts lost to Tshatedi and Findlay 6-2 to give Lipscoomb the doubles point.

The Red Wolves return home to take on Abilene Christian on Saturday, March 4 at the new A-State Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
