ARLINGTON, Texas (4/7/17) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team dropped a Sun Belt Conference tennis match to Louisiana-Monroe by a count of 4-0 Friday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center on the campus of UT Arlington.

The Warhawks took the doubles’ point with victories in matches’ No. 1 and No. 3 and then won three of the remaining six singles’ matches to clinch the match.

In the doubles’ point, Stefana Andrei and Petra Horakova defeated Sabina Jeresic and Victoria Pisani 6-1, while Tiffany Mylonas and Luana Stanciu downed Julie Gauguery and Allison Quammen 6-0.

In singles’ competition, ULM’s Patricia Villar defeated Shannon O’Brien 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 3 matches, while Victoria Pisani lost to Horakova 6-0, 6-0. ULM rounded out the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory by Madalina Grigoriu over the Red Wolves’ Allison Quammen.

A-State now has an overall record of 1-15 on the year, while ULM improved to 11-1. The Red Wolves conclude the regular season on Saturday against Texas State at the UTA Tennis Center. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
