HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. (10/31/17) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team completed the fall portion of its schedule by finishing ninth among 15 teams by shooting a final-round 300 to record a 920 total at Diamante Country Club.

A-State’s third-round 300 was the best of the three rounds for the team as they moved up two positions in the tournament rankings on the final day. The Red Wolves were in 11th place heading into the final 18 holes today.

A-State was led by two players who finished among the top-10 in the tournament. Both junior Aracelly Jimenez Rios and senior Sarah Childers finished tied for eighth place after carding a 225. Jimenez Rios recorded a third-round 74, while Childers posted a 77.

Also competing for the Red Wolves, sophomore Marisa Marquez posted a final score of 237 after finishing with a third-round 75 to tie for 47th place. Junior Beth Ann Compton carded a final-round 74 to finish tied for 53rd and recorded a 239 for the tournament. Senior Kirsten Garner finished with a final 241 (81-78-82) to tie for the 61st position.

Senior Emma Miller along with sophomores Grayson Gladden and Monica Lieving each competed as individuals for A-State. Miller led all individual players and tied for 53rd after carding a third-round 81 to finish with a 239. Gladden finished second among players competing as individuals and tied for 56th with a final-round 83 and 240 for the tournament. Lieving finished 75th and recorded a final 250 (85-84-81).

The Red Wolves will be back in action on Monday, Feb. 12 at the Texas State Invitational.
