EL DORADO, Ark. (10/31/17) – The Arkansas State men’s golf team claimed a top-five finish at the Duck Commander Intercollegiate after shooting a third-round 316 to claim fifth place, and close out the fall portion of its schedule Tuesday at the Mystic Creek Golf Club.

Upon completing the 54-hole tournament, the Red Wolves took sole possession of fifth place today after finishing tied for the position after the second round yesterday and finished with a total of 930.

A-State was paced by two players who finished among the top-20 golfers in the tournament. Senior Tanner Napier finished 19th after shooting a third-round 77 to post a 233 total. To tie for 20th place, junior Jakub Bares carded a final-round 80 to finish just one stroke behind Napier with a 234.

Also competing for the Red Wolves, junior Joel Wendin tied for 29th place with a third-round 80 to card a 237, while sophomore Zan Luka Stirn finished tied for 32nd with a final-round 79 to post a 238 total. Redshirt Trent Jones carded a 240 (77-77-86) for the tournament to round out team scoring.

Competing as an individual, senior Kevin Kramarski tied for 54th while posting a third-round 80 and carding a 246 for the tournament.

The Red Wolves will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Seminole Intercollegiate.
