JONESBORO, Ark. (1/17/07) ? “Red,” Arkansas State's Spirit Character, has done it again by finishing in the top 10 of the finals of the 2007 College Nationals mascot championship Jan. 12 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

The red figure with spiky hair who entertains young and old alike at athletic and community events finished fourth in the competition. Michigan State's “Sparty” won the event with Auburn's “Aubie” coming in second and Minnesota's “Goldy Gopher” was third.

“Red” is the recipient of several awards over the years including winning the best mascot competition at the Universal Cheerleader Association's College Division camp at the University of Alabama in July 2006. He also placed sixth in the UCA/UDA College Mascot Nationals two years ago.
