(4/21/12) - The Arkansas State track & field teams completed action at the
Vandy Invitational Saturday posting 15 top 10 finishes during day two action.
Allyson
Perry was second overall and first among collegiate competitors in the 400
hurdles posting a time of 1:02.40. Kelsy Bean also ran well finishing ninth in
the same event at 1:05.37.
Corwin
Pace led four ASU discus throwers to top 10 finishes, with a throw of 51.15m,
which was good enough for second in the event. Tyler Lingo was fourth at 48.44
followed by Chris Nicasio in fifth at 47.49 and Thomas Ligon in seventh at
46.71. Nicasio picked up a fourth place finish in the men's hammer while
Richard Chavez was seventh at 51.17.
Julia
Agawu posted two top five finishes during day two action finishing fourth
overall and third among collegiate competitors at 47.90m in the Discus and
placing fifth overall and third amongst collegians in the hammer throw at
51.17m.
Solomon
Williams finished fourth in the men's 110 hurdles with a time of 14.87 while
William Oliver was ninth at 15.19. In the women's 110 hurdles, Kanesha Hicks
was ninth at 14.84.
Charlie
Stander finished eighth in the men's 100 meter run at 11.01 and Greg Phillips
was ninth in the 400 hurdles at 55.92.
Late
Friday night, Kristina Aubert broke the Arkansas State record in the women's 5K
at the Mount Sac Relays finishing 22nd in her heat at 17:14.51.
