JONESBORO, Ark. (5/29/12) — The Arkansas State baseball program announced Tuesday that dates have been set and registration is open for the 2012 Tommy Raffo ASU Summer Baseball Camps. Two camps are scheduled in June, and one in July at Tomlinson Stadium on the ASU campus.
Arkansas State Head Coach Tommy Raffo and his staff will provide instruction at the camps. Current and former Red Wolf players will assist in the camp instruction as well.
The camps will offer specialized training designed to improve the campers’ hitting, defensive play and baseball techniques through a variety of drills and game-type settings.
“Young players attending our camps will receive instruction from our coaches and players in a fun environment,” said ASU head coach Tommy Raffo. “Future Red Wolves will learn skills that will make them better ballplayers and our camps are a great way to start the summer.”
The camps will get underway June 4-7 with a youth camp for players ages 6-11. A second camp for players ages 6-11 will be held June 18-21, and both camps will run from 8:00 a.m. until noon. A junior high camp for players ages 12-14 will run July 9-12, also from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
Campers may register online at www.arkansasstatebaseballcamps.com For more information, call the ASU Baseball Office at 870-972-2700.
Campers should provide their own hat, glove, helmet, bat, baseball pants and cleats. Campers should also bring tennis shoes in the event that the camp is held indoors due to bad weather. Catchers attending the camp should bring their catching gear.
