COLLEGE STATION, Texas. (3/9/17) – Junior sprinter Jaylen Bacon and senior thrower Erin Farmer will represent Arkansas State track and field at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships hosted by Texas A&M this weekend.

Farmer enters the championships ranked fourth in the shot put. She is scheduled to throw 13th among the 16 entries with the competition beginning at 5:15 p.m. Friday. Farmer had an outstanding senior season on the indoor circuit as she broke her own school record multiple times and claimed the Sun Belt Conference individual title in this discipline. She has a season-best mark of 17.80m (58-04.75) entering the meet.

Bacon arrives in College Station ranked ninth in the 60-meter dash. He will sprint out of lane four in heat two Friday at 6:10 p.m. Should he advance to the final, Bacon would run at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Bacon flashed a season best time of 6.60 seconds, a school record, earlier this season. He had first place finishes in each of his five indoor meets before placing second in the Sun Belt Conference championships.
