2012: Played in nine games on special teams and in a reserve role at running . . . finished the season with nine rushing attempts for 76 yards and one touchdown . . . Averaged 8.4 yards per attempt . . . Recorded season highs of six ruhsing attempts and 59 yards against Alcorn State.

2011: Played in four ASU's first five games before missing the remainder of the season due to injury . . . Averaged 6.8 yards per rush, recording 120 yards on just 18 carries . . . Recorded a career-high long run of 40 yards against Memphis . . . Rushed seven times for a season-best 67 yards vs. Memphis . . . Ran for 55 yards on seven attempts against UCA

2010:  Played in 10 games as a true freshman, averaging a team-high 6.8 yards per rush . . . Ranked third among running backs and fourth on the team in rushing yards, piling up 258 on just 38 attempts . . . Also posted 13 receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown to finish with 344 all-purpose yards . . . Posted a season-high 78 rushing yards on nine attempts against Louisville . . . Posted a season-long 35-yard run against Louisville as well . . . Three rushes of at least 20 yards . . . Recorded 46 rushing yards, his second highest total of the season, on just three attempts against Navy . . . ASU Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Three-year varsity letterman . . . Thornton finished his senior season with 1,456 yards and 15 touchdowns in 11 games, averaging 8.3 yards per carry. . . As a junior he ran for 1,119 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 7.0 yards per carry. . . Thornton was the tailback in the Red Devils' wishbone - moved to a slot position in passing sets and also returned kickoffs . . . Named all-region and all-metro in 2008 and 2009 . . . Named team's Offensive MVP and region Offensive MVP as a senior . . . 2009 preseason all-state selection . . . 3-star recruit by ESPN.com . . . Ranked No. 110 running back in the nation and No. 1 in the state of Tennessee by ESPN.com . . . Competed in track and field . . .
