JONESBORO, Ark. (6/1/12) - The 2012 edition of the Brian Boyer Basketball Camps got underway Friday with the first annual Red Wolves shooting camp. The camps will continue Saturday with a one-day team camp. Space remains available for girls wishing to attend the remaining Brian Boyer Basketball Camps at Arkansas State University. Two four-day camps are available to girls entering kindergarten through high school seniors. The four-day camps, which will be held in the ASU Convocation Center, will be staffed by Boyer and the ASU women's basketball coaching staff, along with current and former Red Wolves players. Both camps are scheduled to run June 18-21. An individual camp for girls grades 4-12 will run from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. each day. The camp will stress fundamentals and team concepts vital to the game of basketball. Morning sessions will focus on in-depth station work covering all aspects of the game of basketball. Afternoon sessions will apply those skills to game-type situations. Lunch will be provided between sessions. An elementary camp for girls grades K-4 will be held each evening from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. This camp will teach the proper fundamentals of basketball while allowing the campers to interact with the Red Wolf staff and players in a fun environment. Registration forms may be downloaded by following the link to the women's basketball section of www.AStateRedWolves.com or may be obtained by calling the ASU women's basketball office at 870-972-2401. A certified athletic trainer will be on duty at all times during the camps. |
