|Nine Flight Champions Crowned at A-State Classic|
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (7/29/12) - The 28th Annual A-State Classic concluded Sunday afternoon at the Hot Springs Country Club with the crowning of of nine different flight champions following the second and final round of play on the Arlington course.
A record-breaking seventy-two teams made up of 144 players participated in the tournament hosted by the Arkansas State Athletics Department. Liberty Bank was the title sponsor for the two-day event that began Saturday with the opening round, a reception, silent and live auction and dinner.
The proceeds from the tournament go to the Red Wolf Club, which serves as the principal fundraising arm of the ASU Athletic Department.
"The second day of golf was even better than the first," said Director of the Red Wolf Club Doug Doggett. "Everyone had a great time, but more importantly everyone who participated made a huge difference in the lives of our student-athletes."
The Red Wolf Club is the primary development arm of Arkansas State Athletics. The team of Mark Jones and Trent Jones won the championship flight with a combined 125, recording a 64 and 61 for the first and second rounds, respectively.
