JONESBORO, Ark. (11/01/12) – The Arkansas State University women’s tennis team will conclude its fall season this weekend when it hosts the Red Wolf Invitational.  The tournament will feature players from Arkansas-Little Rock, Central Arkansas, Murray State, Southeast Missouri State, Southern Illinois-Carbondale, and Tennessee-Martin.

The tournament is being held at Allen Park in Jonesboro and will start at 10 a.m. Friday morning.  The Red Wolf Invitational will resume play on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. until its conclusion Sunday evening.

“I am looking forward to a great weekend of tennis,” second-year ASU coach Marina Engelbrecht said.  “Our ladies are ready and excited to finish the fall season on a high note.  We would like to invite anyone that loves tennis to come watch some quality matches.”

The ASU tennis team returns six lettermen from last year’s team, including senior Ioana Teu.  Teu and junior Janie Nowland teamed up for an impressive doubles victory over Missouri in the ITA Regional Tournament.  Teu, Nowland, and Biljana Miloshevska all won first rounds matches their last time out and look to build upon that success.
