JONESBORO (11/30/12) - As part of Arkansas State's festivities and promotions surrounding its home football game Saturday against Middle Tennessee to determine the Sun Belt Conference champion, two A-10 Thunderbolt II 'Warthogs' from the Arkansas Air National Guard's 188th Fighter Wing based in Fort Smith, Ark., will perform a flyover at Liberty Bank Stadium prior to the 2 p.m. kickoff.

The 188th just returned from a deployment to Bagram, Afghanistan, in which 375 of the wing's 1,000 Airmen and 10 of the unit's 21 Warthogs deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  The A-10 Thunderbolt is also known as the 'Warthog', the 'flying gun' and the 'Tankbuster'.

"We are thrilled to have the 188th unit perform a flyover at the game," said ASU Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions Gleen Hart.  "This will add even more excitement to what promises to be a great game.  We are grateful for their support and willingness to grant us a flyover."

In addition to the flyover, a "Back in Black" promotion is in place for ASU's Senior Day game where it will recognize its 20 seniors prior to kickoff for their contributions to Arkansas State University and the football program.  Fans are encouraged to show pack pride by wearing black to the game in support of the Red Wolves as they compete for their second consecutive league championship.

ASU's 20 seniors that will be recognized in a pregame ceremony are Ryan Aplin, Kevin Galindo, Nathan Herrold, Tausean Holmes, Shervarius Jackson, Josh Jarboe, Don Jones, Anthony Kincy, Cole Lorigan, Zack McKnight, Kedric Murry, Nick Nelms, Cody Prater, Chaz Scales, Andre Smith, Tim Starson, Taylor Stockemer, Neely Sullivent, Ryan Wilbourn and Ronnell Wright.
