Below is a list of Arkansas State baseball players who have spent time in professional baseball at some level. Some players included on the list did not play baseball at Arkansas State but did attend the school.

 
Arkansas State Alumni Who Played in the Major Leagues

Weldon Bowlin -

  • Made an appearance with the Kansas Athletics on September 16, 1967. 
  • Played professional baseball for 13 seasons.
  • Played at Arkansas State from 1958-59.

  • Played two season with the St. Louis Browns from 1928-19
  • Played professional baseball for 11 seasons.
  • Did not play baseball Arkansas State but did attend the school.

  • Made his professional debut on September 11, 1963 with the Los  Angeles Angels. Was recalled on July 14, 1964 and played with Angels until the end of the 1965 season.
  • Also made an appearance  with Atlanta during the 1970 season.
  • Played professionally for 10 seasons.
  • Played at Arkansas State from 1957-1959. 

  • Played 16 seasons at the Major League level for the Philadelphia Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles.
  • Inducted in the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983.
  • He was a 10-time All-Star.
  • Holds the record for fewest strikeouts by a batting champion.
  • Led the American League in hitting in 1949.
  • Did not play baseball at Arkansas State but did briefly enroll at the school.

  • Made his Major League debut with the Philadelphia Phillies on September 6, 1990.
  • Played six seasons of professional baseball.
  • Briefly attended Arkansas State before transferring to another school. 

  • Made his Major League Debut with the Chicago White Sox on Sept. 20, 1950. Also played with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1953 and 1954. Also played with the White Sox in 1954 and 1955.      
  • Played 10 seasons of professional baseball.
  • Did not play for Arkansas State but did attend the school.

              
  • Made his Major League debut with the Texas Rangers on August 5, 1992.
  • Played with Rangers from 1992-1997 and then played one season in Philadelphia in 1998. Also made appearances with San Diego, Atlanta and Toronto. 
  • Was drafted by the Rangers in 25th round of the 1990 MLB Amateur Draft.
  • Played for Arkansas State from 1987-1990.  

 


 Daniel Wright -

  • Made his Major League debut with the Cincinnati Reds May 24, 2016 with a start against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Los Angeles.
  • Drafted by Cincinnati in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft.
  • First A-State player since Matt Whiteside to appear in a MLB game
  • Former walk-on that played at Arkansas State from 2010-2013.

Andy Ferguson - Drafted in the 18th Round by Kansas City in 2011.
Zach George - Drafted in the 35th Round by Pittsburgh in 2015.
Chandler Hawkins - Drafted in the 33rd Round by St. Louis in 2015.
Jacob Lee - Drafted in the 9th Round by Cleveland in 2012.
Stuary Levy - Drafted in the 27th Round by Baltimore in 2015.
David Owen - Drafted in the 19th Round by San Francisco in 2015.
