HACKENSACK, N.J. (11/2/13) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team leads the field at the FDU Jamboree in total pinfall after day two of the tournament.

The Red Wolves went 4-2 on the day, but its total pinfall amount earned A-State the number one seed heading into Sunday’s bracket play.  Arkansas State is now 9-2 overall for the tournament and has a total pinfall of 9,820, which was 87 pins better than second place Fairleigh Dickinson.  Junior Sarah Lokker had a total pinfall of 1,298 for a 216 average to finish third overall individually and earn all-tournament honors.

“It’s good to get the lead, but we lost two matches today,” A-State women’s bowling coach Justin Kostick said.  “We need to go out tomorrow and get two victories and bring home a tournament title.”

The Red Wolves fell in its first match of the day to host FDU 929-874, but bounced back for four consecutive wins against Sam Houston State (1,086-956), Maryland-Eastern Shore (1,035-990), Sacred Heart (995-993), and Monmouth (988-847).  A-State lost its final match of the day to Delaware State by a score of 965-941.

The Red Wolves will play the fourth seed Wisconsin-Whitewater Sunday for the right to bowl against FDU or Stephen F. Austin for the championship.  Competition gets underway at 9 a.m.
