JONESBORO, Ark. (8/11/14) – Arkansas State head soccer coach Tafadzwa Ziyenge announced Monday that Michele Clark will join the Red Wolves coaching staff as graduate assistant for the upcoming season.

Clark, a former A-State soccer player, tallied 16 goals and eight assists in her time as a collegiate soccer player. She scored six goals in both her junior and senior seasons and played in 78 matches. She set career-highs against Middle Tennessee on Oct. 10, 2008 with two goals and four points.

“Michele is one of the best players to have ever worn an A-State uniform and in the two years I coached her she continuously set a very high standard,” Ziyenge said. “I am beyond pleased to see such a special talent coming back home.”

Clark was a four-year letterman at Arkansas State (2008-11) and ranks in the top 10 in several categories in the A-State record book including career points, career goals, multiple assist games, shots on goal, game-winning goals and goals scored.

The Arkansas State women’s soccer season begins Aug. 15 with an exhibition match against St. Louis at 5 p.m. at the A-State Soccer Complex, located adjacent to the A-State Tennis Complex and intramurals off Red Wolf Trail. The team will also host Memphis in 1 p.m.
