JONESBORO, Ark. (8/19/14) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team announced its schedule for the 2014-15 season Tuesday and features the Red Wolves in nine regular season tournaments.

A-State will open the season for the second consecutive year at the Fairleigh Dickinson Jamboree Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Hackensack, N.J., before making a trip to Valparaiso University Nov. 7-9 to defend last season’s Crusader Classic title.  The Red Wolves travel to Lincoln, Neb., Nov. 13-15 to compete in the Big Red Invitational and close out the fall portion of their schedule with a trip to Houston, Texas to bowl in the Kat Klash Invitational hosted by Sam Houston State Nov. 21-23.

“This is a very competitive schedule with some great tournaments that should help us reach our ultimate goal, which is an eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance,” A-State women’s bowling coach Justin Kostick said.

The Red Wolves will return to action Jan. 16-18 at the Jonesboro Bowling Center for the Mid-Winter Invitational.  Arkansas State won its host tournament for the first time in school history last season and will look to repeat as champions.  The following weekend, A-State will travel to Reading, Penn., for the Kutztown University Invitational Jan. 23-25 and conclude three straight playing weekends with a trip to Arlington, Texas for the Prairie View A&M Invitational Jan. 30-Feb. 1.

Arkansas State returns to action Feb. 13-15 at the Stephen F. Austin Jacks Invitational in Houston, Texas and wraps up the regular season with a trip to Smyrna, Tenn., for the Music City Classic March 6-8.  The 2015 NCAA Tournament is scheduled for April 14-18 in St. Louis, Mo.

A-State had a record-setting season a year ago with the most wins in school history (98) and Sarah Lokker earning Arkansas State’s first NTCA Division I Player of the Year award.  The Red Wolves had two NTCA First-Team All-Americans, one NTCA Honorable Mention All-American, and Kostick won his second career NTCA Division I Coach of the Year award.
