Release: 10/19/2016

Tanner Seal was named the assistant women's bowling coach by head coach Justin Kostick prior to the beginning of the 2016-17 season.

Seal recently began his post as an assistant coach recently and is helping the Red Wolves prepare for their season-opening tournament, the Wildcat Invitational, set for Oct. 21-23 in Orlando, Fla. He most recently helped out as a volunteer coach at the University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Ky.

“I’m very happy to add a local guy like Tanner to the staff,” Kostick said. “He was a successful player at the collegiate level and also has some coaching experience so that’s a big plus to me. I’m excited to work with him and can’t wait to start the season.”

A native of Jonesboro, Ark., Seal bowled collegiately at Pikeville for two seasons. The Bears won the Mid-South Conference championship during both of his seasons there and he was First-Team All-Conference for the 2014-15 season.  During his time at Pikeville, he was named to three all-tournament squads.

Seal went to Jonesboro High School and played football and soccer for the Hurricane. He majored in criminology while at the University of Pikeville.
