HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. (10/31/16) – Arkansas State continued play Monday at the Little Rock Women’s Golf Classic, shooting a second-round 310 to push its combined score to 620 and put it in 11th place among 16 teams.

A-State, which entered the second round tied for 11th, duplicated its first-round score from yesterday at the Diamante Country Club.  The squad is currently four strokes behind 10th-place Wichita State and within seven of ninth-place Stephen F. Austin.  Central Arkansas and UTEP both hold a combined score of 593 to lead the field, while UMKC and North Texas stand tied for third with a 597 each.

The Red Wolves have two players among the top-25 individual leaders, including Grayson Gladden in a tie for 13th place and Aracelly Jimenez Rios in a tie for 17th.  Gladden, competing as an individual, shot a team-best 73 today to run her two-day total to 149, while Jimenez Rios carded a 75 for the second straight day to give her a combined 150.

A-State’s Kirsten Garner and Beth Ann Compton are both tied for 45th place with a combined 156.  Marisa Marquez is tied for 66th with a 159, Emma Miller tied for 72nd with a 160 and Olivia Loiacano tied for 77th with a 163.  Like Gladden, Loiacano is competing as an individual.

The Little Rock Women’s Golf Classic will conclude Tuesday with a third-and-final round.
