SPARTANBURG, S.C. (11/6/16) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team wrapped up competition at the Wofford Invite Sunday with three singles match victories at the Reeves Tennis Center.

Senior Julie Gauguery won third place in the “Gold” bracket with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Catherine Martin of Wofford. Victoria Roberts also won a third place trophy in the “College” draw with a 6-0, 5-7, 10-7 win over Brenau’s Kristen Dickins.

Sabina Jeresic defeated Western Carolina’s Alex Webb 7-6, 6-3 for a third place finish in the “Black” draw, while freshman Allison Quammen defeated Paloma Sanchez of Bluefield College with a 6-3, 2-6, 10-3 win in the consolation bracket of the “SoCon” draw. Victoria Pisani suffered the only loss of the day with a 6-2, 6-3 setback against Mary Walker Mixon of Gardner Webb.

The tournament also brings an end to the Red Wolves’ fall tournament schedule in which it competed in four tournaments. The squad will open its dual match season on Friday, Jan. 27 against Southeast Missouri State at 11 a.m. in Jonesboro.
