JONESBORO, Ark. (12/5/16) – Arkansas State head volleyball coach David Rehr announced Monday that Ryley Gill has chosen to continue her volleyball career at A-State and will join the team for the 2017 campaign.

A native of Ashburn, Va., Gill is the seventh newcomer for the 2017 season to be announced by the program.

A 5’5 defensive specialist/libero, Gill prepped at Stone Bridge High School where she was named First-Team All-Conference 14 as a senior. She helped the Lady Bulldogs to a regular-season conference championship in 2016 after the team was the 5A Virginia High School League (VHSL) State Champions during her junior season in 2015. Additionally, she was a VHSL 5A All-State selection as a libero in 2015 and also garnered VHSL 5A North Region First-Team honors.

“Ryley is an outstanding defender with extremely quick feet and the ability to range and create plays that will extend rallies,” Rehr stated. “She will have an opportunity to vie for the libero position next season.”

The Red Wolves recently completed the 2016 season with a 25-8 record and 15-1 mark in SBC play to earn the West Division Championship.
