ORLANDO, Fla. (12/14/16) – One day after arriving in Orlando, Fla., the Arkansas State football team resumed its practice schedule Wednesday morning and later took part in the Cure Bowl’s first official event, a welcome reception and NBA game at the Amway Center.

The Red Wolves arrived at the Loews Portofino Bay Resort yesterday afternoon before attending Walt Disney World’s Epcot theme park, but were back to business this morning with meetings and an 11:00 a.m. practice at The First Academy. The Red Wolves will hold an additional padded workout at The First Academy tomorrow before conducting a walk-through at Camping World Stadium on Friday.

A-State held additional meetings in the afternoon prior to departing for the Amway Center at 5:00 p.m. The Red Wolves and UCF Knights both took part in an outdoor welcome reception, including a dinner, and then watched the Orlando Magic play the Los Angeles Clippers.

“This is great – beautiful weather, the hotel is amazing and it’s a great bowl lineup our guys are very excited about,” said A-State head coach Blake Anderson. “We had a good day yesterday at Epcot, the NBA game is a great experience and they’ll get to spend some time at Universal tomorrow. We’re trying to stick to our normal schedule as much as possible, though – meetings today, had a good practice this morning and another one tomorrow in pads as we kind of get used to the weather a little more. We want to mix in some fun things along the way, but we’ve got to be mentally ready and hold up in the second half.”

Following tomorrow’s practice at The First Academy, Anderson, Arkansas State Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir, and A-State student-athletes Chris Odom, Warren Wand and Jake Swalley will all participate in a 12:00 p.m. Cure Bowl press conference at Loews Royal Pacific Resort.

The Red Wolves will also have an opportunity tomorrow afternoon and evening to attend Universal Orlando theme parks as part of the Cure Bowl’s scheduled events.
