JONESBORO, Ark. (8/21/17) – Arkansas State senior thrower Itamar Levi is set to represent Israel at the 29th World University Games contested August 19-30 in Taipei.

Levi is among 24 competitors in the men's discus throw and 28 athletes that will vie for the title in the men's shot put. Levi will open his competition on Tuesday at 9 p.m. (CT) with the shot put competition. The shot put final is slated for 6:30 a.m. (CT) on Wednesday. He will compete in the discus throw on Saturday at 9:15 p.m. (CT) with the final set for August 28 at 5:20 a.m. (CT).

Levi has three second place finishes at Sun Belt Conference Championships in his time at Arkansas State. He redshirted the outdoor season in 2017, but had a second place finish at the 2017 SBC Indoor Championships with a shot put of 17.95m (58-10.75). He posted second place finishes at the 2016 SBC Outdoor Championships with a discus throw of 54.48m (178-9) and shot put of 18.59m (61-00.00).
