ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (9/9/17) – The Arkansas State men’s golf team shot a second-round 300 Saturday at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate, moving the Red Wolves’ two-day combined total to 588 to place them fourth among 16 teams.


A-State completed yesterday’s first round tied for second place after shooting a 288, but dropped two places in the standings today after tacking 12 strokes onto that total.  Although the Red Wolves fell in the standings, they are still just five strokes behind co-leaders UCF and Miami (OH).  Kentucky stands third with a combined 584.


The Red Wolves ended the day with three players among the top-20 leaders, including Zan Luka Stirn, Joel Wendin and Tanner Napier.  Leading A-State, Stirn is tied for fourth place with a combined 144 (70-74).  Standing tied for 10th, Wendin carded a 75 to go along with his-opening round 71 for a 146 total score.  Napier is tied for 20th place with a combined 149 (74-75).


Also competing for Arkansas State, Trent Jones is tied for 50th place with a 155 (73-82) and Andrew Huseman tied for 56th with a 156 (80-76).


The Wolf Run Intercollegiate’s third-and-final round will be played Sunday.
