JONESBORO, Ark. (11/9/17) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team announced Thursday that Averi Brown has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her bowling career as a member of the Red Wolves beginning with the 2018-19 season.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Brown has accumulated a number of accolades for Eastmoor Academy including first-place finishes in the D2 Sectionals and Districts as a freshman in the 2014-15 season. Additionally, she was First-Team All-City and a D2 State finalist. She won the Central District Preview MVP as well during that season with a 715 series.
More recently, Brown was an Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) All-Ohio Honorable Mention as a sophomore in 2015-16 and was the top finisher in her D1 Districts competition. She won the Central District Preview for the second straight season with a 703 and registered the conference high average (209) along with the conference high game (267). During her junior season she was a D1 Sectionals First Qualifier and was the District Runner-Up. She was also an OHSAA D1 State Championship finalist.
Outside of her high school accolades, Brown is a two-time Junior Gold qualifier (2016 and 2017) and she won the 2016 Pepsi State U20 with 1,400 total pinfall, including a high game of 267. Earlier this year she won three events at the Central Ohio Youth USBC Youth City Tournament and was fourth in the Future Stars Tournament.
Arkansas State wraps up the fall portion of its schedule Nov. 10-12 at the Warhawk Classic in Kenosha, Wis.
