JONESBORO, Ark. (11/17/17) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team announced Friday that Montana Meyer has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her bowling career as a member of the Red Wolves starting with the 2018-19 season.

A native of Imperial, Mo., Meyer attends Fox High School and has bowled since the beginning of high school. She was the Missouri State Pepsi Champion in 2017 and bowled in the Pepsi Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Lincoln Open in June of this year. Additionally, she has earned a spot in Junior Gold 2018 with a fourth-place finish in the Cleveland DV8 Shootout.

Other accolades for Meyer included a fifth-place finish in the Diamond Jo PWBA Regional along with 52nd place in the 2017 Junior Gold U20 Championships out of 840 competitors. She has also bowled a 300 game and multiple 700 series. Additionally, she was named the 2016 Female Youth Bowler of the Year in Missouri.

Meyer joins Destiny Truly (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Averi Brown (Columbus, Ohio) as early signees for Arkansas State.

A-State returns to action in 2018 as the squad opens the spring portion of its schedule Jan. 12-14 in its home tournament, the Mid-Winter Invitational. The event will be held at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center in Jonesboro.
