NEW ORLEANS, La. (3/3/18) – The Arkansas State women’s basketball team has earned the No. 8 seed heading into next week’s Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament and will take on No. 9 Appalachian State on Tuesday, March 6 at 11:30 a.m. in New Orleans, La., at Lakefront Arena.

A-State finished the Sun Belt Conference with a 10-8 mark in the league and will play the Mountaineers who wrapped their conference slate with a 5-13 mark after losing to Coastal Carolina on Saturday. The Red Wolves and Chanticleers ended the regular season with same conference record and split the season series with one win each, but Coastal Carolina held the tie break by virtue of a win against the No. 2 seed Texas State.

Should A-State advance to the quarterfinal round, they would take on the No. 1 seed Little Rock on Thursday, March 8 at 11:30 a.m., while the semifinals are slated for Saturday, March 10 at 5 p.m. The championship game will take place Sunday, March 11 at 6 p.m.

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament will take place March 9-12 in New Orleans, La., and all games will air on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App.
