JONESBORO, Ark. (3/27/18) – The NCAA Women’s Bowling Championship field will be revealed Wednesday, March 28 when a field of 10 teams will be selected to compete in the tournament on the NCAA.com selection show at 3 p.m.

Arkansas State will be among the 10 teams selected as the Red Wolves secured the Southland Bowling League’s automatic bid by winning the tournament championship March 25 over Stephen F. Austin. A-State will make its 11th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament as one of 10 teams in the expanded field. The 2018 NCAA Women’s Bowling Championship will be held at Tropicana Lanes in St. Louis, Mo., April 12-14.

The team will have a watch party that is open to the public in the Woodard McAlister Family Club at Centennial Bank Stadium with doors opening at 2:45 p.m., as A-State finds out its positioning in the championship tournament. The Red Wolves currently sport a record of 87-34 with the 87 wins already representing the third most in school history.

The NCAA Women’s Bowling Committee will select a field of 10 teams - six automatic qualifying teams and four at-large teams. Teams will be ranked, based on available selection criteria, with the top six being placed in the championship bracket. The remaining four teams will play in opening round matches to determine the final two teams that will compete in the championship.

The qualifying conferences for the 2018 season are the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, East Coast Conference, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Northeast Conference, Southland Bowling League, and Southwestern Athletic Conference.
