JONESBORO, Ark. (4/18/18) – Sun Belt Conference champions five of the last seven seasons, the Arkansas State football team will conduct its annual Spring Game this Saturday, April 21, at 3:00 p.m. at Centennial Bank Stadium.

There will be multiple events surrounding the actual game, including a gear sale beginning at 1:00 p.m. on the stadium’s west concourse and Fan Fest running from 1:30-2:30 p.m. inside the Student Activity Center (SAC). The gear sale will include numerous items, including game-worn football jerseys from year’s past and coaching apparel from multiple A-State sports.

A-State student-athletes and coaches from the football, women’s soccer and volleyball teams will gather inside the SAC during the Fan Fest to interact with the fans while signing autographs and taking photos. The event will also include inflatables for young Red Wolves’ fans to enjoy.

The actual spring game will give fans an early look at the Red Wolves as they prepare for the upcoming 2018 season while holding a full-contact scrimmage that will include a modified scoring system placing the offense against the defense.

The offense will produce points for field goals and touchdowns in the traditional manner. It will also receive one point for punts downed inside the 10-yard line, but the drive cannot start from beyond its own 35-yard line and the offense must cross mid-field first.

The defense can acquire points by producing a safety (+2), defensive stop after a first down (+2), forcing a 3-and-out (+3) or 4-and-out (+3), recording a turnover (+5) and forcing a turnover returned for a touchdown (+7).

There is no admission charge for the Spring Game, which will also feature the A-State band, cheerleaders, music and more. Concession stands and restrooms will be open on the west side of the stadium, and there will be seats tagged “available” for season tickets that may be purchased at the game as well.

Those attending the game are encouraged to park on the south side of the stadium due to construction on the north end zone. The north end zone project will include new premium seating options for fans, starting with the 2018 season. More information on premium seating options and availability can be obtained by contacting the Red Wolves Foundation at 870-972-2401.

Arkansas State opened its spring camp March 27, and Saturday’s Spring Game will count as its 14th practice. The practice will begin with players participating in drills and will be followed by the game. A-State, which has strung together a school-record seven consecutive winning seasons and bowl-game appearances, will practice again Wednesday and Friday at 4:15 p.m. before playing its Spring Game Saturday.

Season tickets for the Red Wolves’ 2018 football campaign, which includes six home games, are available for purchase. Tickets may be purchased through the A-State Ticket office, located at First National Bank Arena’s lower red entrance, in person, by phone at 870-972-2781 or online by visiting AStateRedWolves.com/Tickets.

In addition to the football team’s Spring Game, the Red Wolves are hosting a baseball game and track meet Saturday. As part of its three-game Sun Belt Conference weekend series with Troy, the Red Wolves will face the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Tomlinson Stadium. The men’s and women’s track and field teams will be competing in its home event, the A-State Red Wolf Open, both Friday and Saturday. Friday’s action begins at 3:00 p.m., while Saturday’s events will start at 10:30 a.m.
