JONESBORO, Ark. (5/31/18) – The Arkansas State Athletics’ Department has announced the addition of two nationally televised broadcast to the Red Wolves’ football schedule for the 2018 season against Tulsa and Alabama. In addition, ESPN has announced kick-off times for four of A-State’s games this season, including its season opener against Southeast Missouri.

A-State’s first national broadcast of the season will come on Sept. 8 when the squad travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to take on defending National Champions on ESPN2. A 2:30 p.m. kick-off time has also been announced for the game.

A second national television broadcast has been added with an announcement from the CBS Sports Network that it will air the Red Wolves’ Sept. 15 contest at Tulsa with a 6 p.m. kick-off set from H.A. Chapman Stadium. The game will mark the second time in program history that Arkansas State has appeared on a national broadcast on the CBS Sports Network, with the first coming in 2016 in a 31-13 victory over UCF in the AutoNation Cure Bowl.

In addition, ESPN has announced the start times of three of the Red Wolves’ home games this season, including both of its nationally televised games in the month of October.

First, the network announced that Arkansas State’s season opener at Centennial Bank Stadium against Southeast Missouri will air on ESPN+ and will kick-off at 6 p.m. This will be the A-State football program’s first appearance on ESPN+, which was launched in April of 2018 in conjunction with a new partnership between ESPN and the Sun Belt Conference.

ESPN2 will air the Red Wolves’ home game against Appalachian State on Tuesday, Oct. 9 with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m. CT, while ESPNU is set to broadcast Arkansas State’s matchup against Georgia State on Thursday, Oct. 18 and has a scheduled kickoff time of 6:30 p.m. CT.

CBS Sports Network is available nationally on satellite providers DirecTV and Dish Network, and regionally on fiber optic television provider Verizon FiOS, and cable providers such as Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications, RCN Corporation, and smaller local cable providers. ESPN+ is a direct-to-consumer (no cable or satellite subscription needed) streaming service that will cost $4.99 per month.  Subscribers will receive thousands of additional live events, and original shows and films, and an on-demand library, which is not available on ESPN’s linear TV or digital networks. ESPN+ will not include access to stream ESPN’s existing, linear networks (which will continue to be available via “TV Everywhere” authenticated streaming).
