JONESBORO, Ark. (1/10/19) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team is set to host the 2019 Mid-Winter Invitational Jan. 11-13 at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center in Jonesboro and admission is free.
This season’s field includes 22 teams with 11 ranked teams in the latest version of the National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll. Ranked teams competing in the event along with the fourth-ranked Red Wolves include No.1 McKendree, No. 2 Nebraska, No. 5 Sam Houston State, No. 6 Tulane, No. 10 Stephen F. Austin, No. 14 Louisiana Tech, No. 15. Lincoln Memorial, No. 20 University of Alabama-Birmingham and No. 22 Maryville. Central Missouri, Valparaiso, Jackson State, Alabama State, Drury University, Grambling State, Kentucky Wesleyan, Texas Southern and Alabama A&M round out the field.
The Red Wolves enter the weekend with a 25-13 record, after finishing sixth at the Bearcat Hammer Open, third at the Track Kat Klash and second at the Warhawk classic.
Sophomore Taylor Davis was named to the Warhawk all-tournament team after finishing second in the individual standings with a total pinfall of 1,177 for a 235.4 average.
The home team finished fourth in last season’s Mid-Winter Invitational, while McKendree defeated Nebraska to win the tournament.
