JONESBORO, Ark. (1/24/19) – The Arkansas State track and field program is set to host the annual A-State Invitational Friday at First National Bank Arena. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and A-State students get in FREE with Student ID.
Action begins Friday at 1:00 p.m. with the men’s weight throw, women’s long jump, women’s pole vault and men’s high jump competitions. Action on the track begins with 55-meter dash and 55-meter hurdles prelims at 3:00 with the full track schedule getting underway at 4:30 p.m.
After two indoor meets this season, A-State has seven marks that currently lead the Sun Belt Conference performance list. Senior Caitland Smith leads the 60-meter dash (7.45) and 200-meter dash (23.72) while freshman Jermie Walker leads the 400-meter dash (23.72). Senior Michael Carr leads the pole vault (5.32m/17-5.50), freshman Courtney Thomas is atop the long jump (7.47m/24-6.25) list, sophomore Carter Shell leads the triple jump (14.90m/48-10.75) and sophomore Eron Carter paces the weight throw (18.10m/59-4.75).
